Create Youtube playlists on the fly through button in Raindrop's folder toolbar
Tiago Corrêa
The button would create a Youtube playlist with all Youtube links available in the selected Raindrop folder (optionally with recursion). The playlists could be created in the folllowing format: https://www.youtube.com/watch_videos?video_ids=ID1,ID2,ID3,ID4..
I find the features of Youtube playlists really disappointing. Maybe Raindrop could serve as a good alternative, with the following benefits:
- Playlists will be stored on Raindrop's folders (with subfolders support);
- User doesn't lose references (artist name and song name) in Youtube dead links;
- (maybe) Bulk insert of Youtube links when bookmarking a Youtube playlist;
- (maybe) Detecting Youtube dead links on Raindrop's dead links page.

I have created a Shortcut in Mac or iOS which generate such a playlist from a Google Sheet linked to a Raindrop folder with Zapier or iFTTT (each new Youtube link in the folder will automatically be added in the Google Sheet).
Enjoy!

Would love for something like this.

Maybe a YouTube account integration as well, all your Playlist on YouTube, will be synced over or shown Raindrop as well.
Along it's sorting order and all that. Vice versa form YouTube and Raindrop itself.

Steven Mancera: +1 on that. This would be life-saving for me.

I do a lot of serious research on YouTube and desperately need a more sophisticated YouTube web clipper for clipping detailed information from videos. There are no decent YouTube web clipper Chrome extensions to choose from, at least not with the elegant GUI and functionality of RainDrop.io. Creating a solid Raindrop.io Chrome extension specifically for video with features like:
• copy the full description of the video with ALL meta data (tags, dates, location, etc.)
• copy the full transcript
• bookmark timed segments of a video including the option to go back in the video a number of seconds (10, 20, 30 seconds) and then specify the length of the video segment, i.e., start and end points with a link.
• creating playlists
• creating nested collections of playlists
• adding popup markers on the time-bar marking the location on the video of each bookmark (click on the marker and a large thumbnail pops up along with some basic meta data.)
• note taking inside the bookmark (see the Chrome extension called PowerNotes for the best professional usability for browser highlighting, note taking/clipping—something like PowerNotes INSIDE Raindrop.io or integrated WITH Raindrop.io. The ideal would be a combination of PowerNotes, Notion and Airtable inside Raindrop.io)
A sophisticated YouTube extension for Chrome (they don't exist) would put Raindrop.io way ahead of the bookmarking/web clipping competition because YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world. And if the note taking inside each bookmark is good—who needs Evernote!

Jim: That would be AMAZING! If the raindrop team implements even half of those features I would be a happy man.
