The problem with collections is that while you can sort/nest them, you can't have a URL in more than one collection.

The problem with the tags is that while you can have a URL in more than one tag, you can't sort/nest them.

Please give us the ability to have a URL in more than one place while also being able to sort/nest as well as share.

In other words, Please enable the ability to have one URL in multiple (collections).

If there's a workaround, let me know. I would need to have the screenshots and text etc be different as well. Simply copying and pasting the URL to multiple collections doesn't work as the information i.e. screenshots etc are linked.

TAGS AND COLLECTIONS SERVE VERY DIFFERENT PURPOSES. Let us please agree on such basics. The original request was very keen on this. Someone who has an intelligently built collection tree will not very often need it, but still, from time to time, it would be fantastic to be able to add a 'shortcut' to the original in other collections.

That is the basis of tags. You add one or more tags to a bookmark and then it doesn't matter where it's stored, you simply search by tag/context. In your case, I recommend you start using tags instead of collections, and instead of multiple collections with many bookmarks use multiple tags per single bookmark.

Having said that, Raindrop.io could benefit from stronger and more intuitive tag management.

Categories should just be "Tags" and you should be able to add any tags to an item

Suggesting - Devonthink uses a system that lets me copy something OR create a replicant. the replicant is a copy, but when I do something to the original, the change is ALSO made to the replicant. That way I always am looking at the latest version, even if I have that particular content in 4 or 5 areas. Otherwise it becomes a nightmare to keep everything synced. The advantage is that I can put one bookmark in several folders, and as I change one, the others are change ,automatically. Thatchanged works perfectly for me.

To add to this, I'd want to do backlinking to multiple folders.

Main Ask:

As a bookmark organizer with multiple folders, I want to have the ability to backlink folders within different folders so that I can quickly retrieve the bookmarks within those folders when I am carrying out a specific activity. For example, I want to quickly retrieve 'fitness stores' when I am in my fitness folder, AND I would also like to find this 'fitness stores' folder when I am in the shopping folder.

Broken into simpler stories:

User Story 1:

As a bookmark organizer, I want the ability to create backlinks between folders so that I can easily access related bookmarks in different folders.

User Story 2:

As a user, I want to be able to navigate to a linked folder from within another folder so that I can find and access bookmarks related to my current context.

This allows me to keep one main folder and I can just add to that, instead of having to duplicate bookmarks and spend time double booking the entries, it also improves the ability to find and retrieve those bookmarks when carrying out different tasks.

In this time, I am on the horns of a dilemma cause I want to add my bookmarks into multiple collections without duplicate them.

I'd like that feature as soon as possible =)

Sharing is per collection. Sharing is orthogonal to organisation. So I want to organise using collections, but then selectively share bookmarks that may already be sorted into collections. So they need to be in one semantic collection, and possibly multiple shared collections (shared with different audiences).
