full sync with chrome and safari

Raindrop is bookmarks' centerpoint for me. Native bookmarks are still useful, though. I'd prefer them autosynced to raindrop.

Duplicate for newcomers:
Here are a few reasons why I’m not considering implementing this feature in the near future:
1. Shifts Focus from the Product
Imagine this feature is implemented. Over time, you might gradually stop visiting our web app or using the browser extension. Why? Because it’s faster to rely on the native “star” button and the browser bookmarks panel.
Eventually, the only real benefit Raindrop would provide is automatic sync—or worse, you might feel like you no longer need Raindrop, since you wouldn’t be interacting with it directly anymore. Everything would happen in the background.
That’s not the vision for Raindrop. It’s more than just a bookmark manager. However, I’m concerned that many users would forget or overlook its other benefits, focusing only on automatic sync.
Do you remember what happened to Xmarks? They shut down.
2. Complexity and Reliability Issues
While it’s technically possible to implement this feature, making it absolutely reliable is extremely challenging. Avoiding conflicts, accidental overwrites, and data loss is difficult.
If you look at user reviews of other similar solutions, you’ll notice many complaints about syncing issues and data loss.
3. Raindrop and Browser Bookmarks Can Coexist
Perhaps it’s better to keep them separate?
Browser bookmarks work well for quick access to frequently visited pages. But when you try to manage thousands of bookmarks there, it becomes a chaotic mess.
That’s where Raindrop comes in—it helps you organize and preserve the important content you love, independently of your browser, device, or ecosystem.
Maybe I’m wrong about some or all of these points. Please share your thoughts!

Hello Denis, I appreciate that you want to cause users to come to and rely on your product. I work on digital products also, and often get into the discussion with the business who wants to capture their users - but in do so shoot themselves in the foot by forgetting the basic need they need to meet /not interfere with first. The issue is that your users (or perhaps this user) are meeting a fundamental need for fast, synched bookmark access across browsers and devices in whatever browser they choose - that works the way it works natively in those browsers first. That need is more important than the other great things raindrop offers - those things are all a distant second priority - and having to type rd and [tab] to get to an icon that comprises the 95% impediment to that need. This means I might choose a book mark synching service now instead of rain drop and you will have zero using from me instead of some. Might you find another way to enlighten and engage us in the amazing things raindrop has to offer without interfering/slowing down the way we get to bookmarks? I know that's a business challenge, but getting in the way is never a good strategy to get people into your stuff.

customizable bookmarks bar in browser

have no idea if this is possible, but would be great to 1) have a bookmarks bar (for quick access), 2) to be able to position it where we'd like it in the browser window, and a nice bonus would be to make it collapsible or to appear on hover, etc.

Auto-sync specified local bookmark folder

Adding bookmarks using browsers' native bookmarking button is much faster than using Raindrop.io button. How about letting Raindrop.io extension/add-on monitoring specified local bookmark folder and auto-sync them to Raindrop.io in background? This can save users from frequent importing bookmarks as html files or wasting time on manually adding bookmarks to Raindrop.io.

Auto save the bookmark to browser AND raindrop with one but

Just a link between raindrop and browser bookmarks so that adding to one adds it to the other as well. Maintaining a mirror-like system between the two.

Raindrop bookmarks in browser with specific Icons
Toni
For convenience I like to add bookmarks from my folders to my chrome based browser. It would be neat if instead of showing the Raindrop icon for all bookmarks, it would display the specified folder Icon instead.

I would love to have Raindrop.io integrate into my browser a bit better and allow me to populate the bookmarks bar with my Raindrop favourites. Or it could be a custom collection as well.

Real-time Sync for Tabs, History, and Bookmarks
ANS
Hey RD Team, Hope you're doing well. I wanted to throw in a suggestion for a feature that would be super useful: real-time sync for tabs, history, and bookmarks in the browser extensions.
Why It's Important? I've lost a bunch of bookmarks because I forgot to back them up. It's a bit of a pain, especially when those bookmarks are important.
What I'm Thinking:-
- Real-time Sync: Automatically sync tabs, browsing history, and bookmarks in real-time across all devices.
- Smooth Integration: Make sure the sync is seamless and doesn't disrupt the user experience.
- Custom Options: Let users choose what gets synced and how often.
Extra Note; If adding this feature isn't doable right now, I'm thinking about building something similar using your public API, as long as that's cool with you guys.
Thanks for considering this! I think it could be a great addition to an already awesome tool. Cheers,
Ans

Sync with Chrome

Google Chrome Bookmarks shall synchronize automatically with Raindrop. If I change bookmarks in Raindrop, the bookmarks of Chrome shall change accordingly.
