Cannot Install Safari Extension

I can't install the latest Safari extension on SF 14. I'm on Big Sur and old extension installs well but not new one. At the same time the new extension installs well on another Mac which runs on the Catalina.

the fix…per Rustem, install the Big Sur update to 11.2.2 or higher; it fixed this issue

Seeing this same behavior very recently. I've had the new extension installed in Safari for quite a while now, but it seems to have been removed on my machine (might have been deactivated with a macOS update is my guess). So I went to re-enable the extension... it's not listed in the Safari Extension Preferences list. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Raindrop and the Save to Raindrop.io app with no success. The button "Quit and Open Extensions Preferences" does nothing.

UPDATE: March 11th - this is now fixed for me. I am on macOS 11.3 beta so I was already a version ahead of the 11.2.2 that supposedly had the fix, but today I just got a prompt to update Safari Tech Preview (I run both side by side: Personal and Work profiles). After updating Safari Tech Preview, both Safari browsers prompted about activating the "new extension: Raindrop.io" and I was able to enable it just fine.

Jon Bjornn: I'm having the same issue. Using 11.2.3 and Safari 14.0.3 on a Mac M1 Mini. Both Raindrop and another extension I use Bitwarden has disappeared and can't be reinstalled. I believe it might be an Apple Silicon (M1) issue as my older Intel MBP - both extensions working fine. Are you using a M1?
Jon Bjornn
Dave: Hi Dave, no I'm running an Intel MBP 2020. Do you run safari tech preview? Definitely seems plausible that it could be M1-related, sorry to hear that it's not showing up for you as well.

Jon Bjornn: No I don't run safari tech preview. On a side note, I spent almost 3 hours on the phone with Apple Support yesterday trying to correct the issue with no luck.

Dave: Since Safari is packaged and versioned with macOS, that makes it really difficult to troubleshoot these types of problems... What was weird for me was that I got a prompt to update Safari Tech Preview (since updates for that are separate from the OS) and when I did, it fixed my regular Safari too. No change to my regular safari version. Felt a bit like the equivalent of kicking the car to get the engine to start again lol.
Wouldn't hurt if you tried installing tech preview, restarting, then trying to enable the extensions in your tech preview browser. Also once you've restarted, double check the Software Update pref pane just in case it offers an alternate version of tech preview.

Jon Bjornn: Jon you should be a genius at Apple.
I downloaded the tech preview, and as soon as it opened, it prompted me to install the extensions I've been using, as well as it included Bitwarden (which disappeared along with Raindrop). I was then able to install the Save to Raindrop.io extension using the extension app. Then when I opened regular safari, all the extensions were there again waiting to be enabled.
Thank you so much. I hope they don't disappear on me overnight again but I will keep my fingers crossed they don't.

Dave: Haha awesome - glad it worked for you! It's been smooth sailing on my machine for a week or so even after a new macOS beta so I think you should be fine too. You'd probably even be able to remove Safari Tech Preview now that the extensions are active again, but I haven't tried that myself since I use both browsers regularly. Cheers

macOS 11.2.1; Safari 14.0.3 - I have the same problem; open Save to Raindrop.io, click the "Quit and Open Extensions Preferences…" button, nothing happens; then manually quit, open Safari Preferences>Extensions tab, and Save to Raindrop does not show in the sidebar.
