I'll start to select text to highlight and the app triggers a scroll dragging it to the bottom of the screen selecting most of the text of the article. I have this issue on my pixel 7 pro, tab s9+, and onyx boox note air c

Same happens in my phone. OnePlus Nord 2T.
Sometimes, selecting a word and then extending the selection upwards works fine.

I can confirm this. It happens on my Samsung S6 Lite tablet and it drives me crazy. The app is unusable for now.
