Safari Extension: Save Bookmarks Faster
complete
Jon
- Add a button that instantly bookmarks the page.
- Add a button that immediately opens a popup to enter in bookmark details: tags/name/description/etc with a "Save" button. Right now doing this requires a lot of clicking around.
Pinboard offers both of these options. With the Instant option it saves them to a specific collection to look at later (to act sort of like Instapaper).
Either one could maybe be instead accomplished with a modifier (hold shift/option when clicking the button for example).
- All of the above, accessed via hotkey.
- Bug: When using the dark theme, after adding a bookmark, while the window is still open, the new bookmark has the wrong background/highlight color (screenshot attached).

When you're activating extension with hotkey or extension button appears this pop-up window (on the photo)
Is it possible to add hotkey to save bookmarks without this window?? by default you need to click save bottom right.
It'll be faster and very useful when you have a little time

Please upgrade to latest version.
We made the new extension optimized for Safari 14.
You will have the best possible Raindrop.io experience. This is the same extension as we have for Chrome, Firefox and other browsers.

Faster and better I would add. Ability to add and edit tags right away when bookmarking as in the Chrome extension.
Safari extension to save bookmark (via the share menu) is still too limited and underdeveloped compared to its Chrome counterpart. And even too slow. Hope this is updated soon!

This would be huge :) Safari doesn't have the small little web clipper option that you have in Firefox / Chrome. Right now I've gotten custom shortcut set up for the Share Extension, so Share → Add to Raindrop. The pop up allows me to type folder name, but can't then click down keys and enter to select, have to use mouse. And then close the window, very slow pop up too. Can't wait for this feature.

This is the main thing that keeps me from switching 100% to raindrop... even though I'm a PRO subscriber. The interactions and extra clicks add up! Having the extension window disappear automatically after saving would be a great setting --> for iOS as well

It would be nice to have a hotkey for searching/filtering bookmarks as well. For example with 1Password I can press cmd-\ and a pop-over comes up (when there is a login form) and I can type to search, then easily select the login I want, press return and it enters it in.
It would be nice if there were a similar hotkey to bring up a spotlight-like search box... Type a few characters from the bookmarks name/title/desc/url/tags/etc and have it filter them as you type, return opens it (to enhance that a bit it could be opt-return opens it in Raindrop for editing, cmd-return opens in new tab/window, etc, etc).
